WITH HOWARD SPIELMAN
Howard Spielman is an award-winning digital artist who employs a computer and digital brush to create vibrant digital paintings inspired by nature and the beauty of Southwest Florida. I met Howard Spielman when he hired Niche Media to design an online storefront for his digital artwork, and we soon became friends as he shared anecdotes and wisdom from his extensive career as an art educator, artist and author.
Howard began his creative journey as an Art Professor in New York and was fortunate to find opportunities where his gift for writing flourished. His remarkable list of achievements includes co-producing the award-winning Showtime series “Dead Man’s Gun” and authoring a memoir. “A Good Day”, written in 2015, chronicles Howard’s metamorphosis from pessimism to optimism through a series of hilarious short stories straight from his personal journal.
Since focusing his attention on painting in pixels, Howard’s bold, vibrant and intricately detailed works have been the recipient of numerous awards and featured in exhibits across Southwest Florida, including at the Baily-Matthews National Shell Museum in Sanibel.
Howard also displays at the annual Peace River National Art Festival in Punta Gorda’s Laishley Park, where he typically sells out of designs printed on aluminum, archival paper and traditional gallery-wrapped canvas.
In addition to physical exhibits, Howard has begun to explore NFT’s, or non-fungible tokens as a fresh way to reach appreciators and collectors of his unique art. While Digital art is a relatively new genre, artists are discovering exciting opportunities in new realms involving NFTs, digital tokens, virtual reality and more. Howard’s new NFT art collection is featured on OpenSea.
